Taz, also known as the Tasmanian Devil, is a frenzied and destructive cartoon character from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series.
He is depicted as a short-tempered, whirling dervish with a ravenous appetite. Taz is known for his spinning tornado-like movements, unintelligible growls and snarls, and ability to devour almost anything in his path.
His first appearance was in the 1954 cartoon short "Devil May Care," directed by Robert McKimson. Taz quickly became a popular recurring character, known for his wild antics and chaotic nature.
